About SamemaS
SamemaS is a free unit converter: 26 converters, from kilograms and pascals to shoe sizes and musical notes, in English, French, Spanish, Arabic and Hindi. Each converter shows every unit at once: type into any field and all the others update. You don't need an account, and nothing is installed.

How SamemaS works

01Conversions run in your browserThe numbers you type are converted by JavaScript on your own device and are not sent to our server. The site does use Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show the ads that keep it free; both use cookies. The Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy explain what they collect and how to refuse them.

02Type into any fieldThere is no "from" and "to". Every unit has its own field, and typing in one updates the rest. Converting a value one way and back returns the number you started with, which is where the name comes from (see below).

03Exact factors where they existUnit factors use the exact defined values published by NIST (Special Publication 811) and the BIPM SI Brochure, for example 1 inch = 2.54 cm and 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg. Clothing and shoe sizes and ingredient weights per cup are conventions or averages, not physical constants, and their pages say so.

04Five languagesThe converters and their reference tables are available in English, French, Spanish, Arabic (right to left) and Hindi, with the same numbers in every language. The blog is currently published in English.
Who writes SamemaS
How we check our articles
Every guide on the SamemaS blog follows the same rules. In October 2026 all of them were re-checked and rewritten against this policy.

01Primary sources firstDefinitions, laws and standards are checked against the body that publishes them: NIST, the BIPM, national legislation, standards organizations and government agencies. Wikipedia is used for history and background, through its own cited sources. Each article ends with the sources we used.

02Every number recomputed in codeTables, worked examples and FAQ answers are calculated with a script from the exact factors, not typed by hand. Charts and diagrams are drawn from the same data, so a figure can't disagree with the text.

03Tools described as they areWhen an article mentions a SamemaS converter, we check what that converter actually does before describing it, and we fix the converter when the check finds a problem.

04Safety topics point to the official sourceArticles touching on safety or health, such as tire pressure or body temperature, carry a notice and link the official guidance. We explain units and conversions; we don't give personal safety or medical advice.

05Dates and correctionsEach article shows when it was first published and when it was last updated. If you find a mistake, tell us through the contact page: we correct it and change the update date.
